Closer to the time of the voyage, we send you documents about practicalities such as safety procedures on board, a detailed illustration of the ship and its rigging, and if necessary, a sketch plan to direct you to where the ship is in the port of embarkation.
Departure and Arrival
Join the ship about 2 hours before sailing time. Remember you're voyaging with a sailing ship where speed first and foremost is dictated by the wind (even though sometimes we have to resort to engine-power to get you to your destination for around the right time). Arrival times are, by necessity approximate, and you should therefore plan your onward journey with at least a few hours' in hand.
What to bring
The space for personal belongings on board the ship is limited,
so please be moderate when packing.
When on board, you will stow your belongings in a sea chest or a small locker. Pack your luggage in a sea bag or a duffel bag that is easy to tuck away, as tall ships do not have much space to store suitcases.
The following items are mandatory:
Valid passport
Receipt for payment of the cruise
Receipt for travel insurance
You should also bring:
Sleeping bag
Warm clothing for cold night watches on deck
Full weather gear
Sea boots and work shoes
Leisure clothing for shore leave
Swim suit
Towels and toiletries for personal use
If you wear glasses, they must in some way be secured to your person
Attention!
Drugs of all kinds are not permitted on board. However, personal medication accompanied by doctor's statement or prescription, is allowed. Medicine against motion sickness is allowed.
